The beautiful Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel offers stylish luxury in northern Thailands brimming Chiang Mai. Charming rooms, a lovely swimming pool and delicious meals at the Vorra Bistro are just some of the facilities of this unique luxury hotel.

The Chiang Mai Riverside is situated 5 kilometers south of the historic city center, on the banks of the serene Ping River. A free shuttle service runs three times a day back and forth between the hotel and the center.

In the spacious garden of the boutique hotel you will find the the swimming pool, with a shallow and a deeper area. You can relax on one of the sunbeds overlooking the river.

Luxury suites

The hotel has a total of 14 charming suites in five different designs. The room size ranges from 60 to 120 square meters, with a decor that ranges from elegant to extravagant, but always stylish and full of Oriental and Western influences. All suites have river views, a kitchen, living room, Apple TV, one or two separate bedrooms and they include a butler service. The hotel has won several awards since its opening in terms of quality and interior design.

The story behind The Chiang Mai Riverside

The suites are designed by the owner, Mr. Teerawut Chanyasak. A Thai engineer with an American MBA degree and a specialization in Real Estate. The friendly Mr. Chanyasak stepped into his mother’s furniture company some years ago and built it into a multidisciplinary group of companies, VorraWut, focusing on real estate development, interior design and construction of all types of furniture. “The only thing missing was a showroom where we could showcase our furniture in an appropriate environment. This is how the idea to start our own hotel was born, accompanied by a great love for travel. I wanted to take the best of every hotel I’ve ever stayed in and bring it together in a five star hotel, with our own design and a homely atmosphere”, said the director and owner. The result is The Chiang Mai Riverside, a chic home for luxury travelers looking for a warm ambiance.

In-room breakfast

The included extensive breakfast offers a choice of five different sets, which will be delivered to your room at the desired time. Asian, local, Western, vegetarian; delicious composed dishes that you can enjoy in your own living room.

The Vorra Bistro

The Vorra Bistro, which is adjacent to the hotel garden, is open to both residents and visitors from outside. On the river banks you will find a cozy covered terrace with comfortable sofas and chairs. Inside dining is also possible at chic tables in the restaurant room. The menu features fresh, mostly organic European, Asian, Fusion and even specific Northern Thai dishes.

Tip: try the Kow Soy Kai, also called Khao Soi, a dish originating from Chiang Mai and deliciously prepared by the chef of the bistro. The Vorra Bistro offers cuisine at a very affordable price. Do you want to learn how to cook the dish yourself? That is possible during a private cooking course at the restaurant, where you will be taught to prepare the best typical Thai meals.

Tours and Taxi service

The hotel has it’s own tour agency where you can book all kinds of trips in Chiang Mai, from sightseeing trips through the city to a golf course and from a spa circuit to trips to the Golden Triangle. There is also a cab service designed by the owner called Book my Cab, where you will be offered fixed taxi prices through an application or hire a driver for a set amount of hours per day.

Our experience at The Chiang Mai Riverside

We stayed a few nights at The Chiang Mai Riverside and felt very pampered in this luxury hotel. The rooms are all elegant showpieces and would not be misplaced in a ‘luxury living magazine’. Both the breakfast and the dinner, which we enjoyed at The Vorra Bistro, were particularly tasteful. But above all the staff deserves to be mentioned. This is the type of luxury hotel where the personnel does everything to make you feel at home. A warm atmosphere created by a crew who loves to talk to you instead of creating a distance.

According to the owner that is one of their missions; “We deliberately choose a team with very different backgrounds, not only people from the hotel industry. Some are very social people, others are very service oriented or are good at finding solutions. A nice combination that works well in our team.” We can only confirm. Would you like to completely get pampered in Chiang Mai and experience a special stay, then The Chiang Mai Riverside is the right choice for you.
